Landscape photography by Penny Watson

destination & landscape photography

Unlikely to fall within the conventional nine ‘til five, I take my opportunities when I can. Photographing landscapes, towns, places of interest is always a pleasure.  It is weather dependent and requires a good deal of forecast watching. But racing out the door to catch a glimmer of extraordinary light or a cloud inversion gets the adrenalin going. I yearn for the satisfaction I get when nailing it.

This type of photography can be brief-driven such as I need a picture of this woodland by a certain date, or alternatively a request is made for an image of something specific, for example someone fishing, a town, a cycle path, a sunset or wind turbine. It could be anything. I check the library to see what I might have. Depending on what is needed and how specialised the request, a mixture of both approaches can work.
